This is the Privacy Policy for Tradewindstack — a productized digital marketing and creative services business operated by Renan Hernandez from Kaua'i, Hawaii. We sell services, not physical goods, so this policy is shorter than most ecommerce privacy policies and focused on what actually applies.

Who we are

Tradewindstack is operated by Renan Hernandez, sole proprietor. Our website is tradewindstack.com. Contact: hello@tradewindstack.com.

What information we collect

From everyone who visits the website

  • Anonymous browsing data via Shopify's built-in analytics: pages viewed, browser type, country, referrer. We do not personally identify website visitors who don't purchase or contact us.
  • Cookies placed by Shopify and Klaviyo for cart functionality, session management, and email-list integration. You can disable these in your browser settings, though doing so may affect site functionality.

From customers who buy a service

  • Name, email address, billing address, and payment information. Payment is processed by Shopify Payments (Stripe under the hood). We never see or store your full credit card number.
  • Business information you share during the engagement — your store URL, brand details, the goals you describe to us.

From clients during active audits, setups, or retainers

This is the part most ecommerce privacy policies don't cover. To deliver our services, clients grant us temporary access to their business systems. The access we typically request:

  • Shopify staff or collaborator account access — to review the storefront, theme, products, and settings.
  • Klaviyo user access — to review email flows, segmentation, and campaign history.
  • Google Ads account access via our Manager (MCC) account — to review campaign structure, ad creative, and conversion data.
  • Meta Business Manager partner access — to review ad accounts, audiences, and creative.
  • Google Analytics 4 + Search Console viewer access — to review traffic and search performance.

During the engagement, we view this data to perform the service. We do not export, copy, sell, or otherwise transmit it to any third party. The data remains under your account ownership at all times.

How we use your information

  • To deliver the service you purchased — conducting the audit, building the setup, running the retainer.
  • To communicate with you — intake emails, scheduling calls, delivering reports, sending invoices.
  • To process payment — via Shopify Payments / Stripe.
  • To send occasional updates if you opted into the email list ("Operator's notes" in the footer). One-click unsubscribe in every email.
  • To comply with legal obligations — tax reporting, responding to legal requests if required.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use it to train AI models.

Who has access to your information

Three categories of parties may handle your data:

  1. Renan Hernandez personally — the sole operator of Tradewindstack. There is no team and no junior staff.
  2. Service providers we use to operate the business: Shopify (storefront and payments), Klaviyo (email), Cloudflare (DNS and email forwarding), Anthropic (AI assistance for content production). Each has its own privacy policy.
  3. No one else, except where legally required.

Third-party API integrations (publishing automation)

Tradewindstack uses APIs from a small number of third-party platforms to publish content from Renan Hernandez's personal accounts. These integrations are used internally for content automation only:

  • LinkedIn API — we use LinkedIn's "Share on LinkedIn" and "Sign In with LinkedIn (OpenID Connect)" APIs to post Tradewindstack articles, case study updates, and original commentary to Renan's personal LinkedIn profile. Scopes used: openid profile email w_member_social. We read Renan's own profile (name, email, member URN) only to authenticate the integration. We do not access, collect, or store data from any other LinkedIn user, including connections, followers, or visitors who interact with the posts.
  • Klaviyo — for email marketing and post-purchase flows.
  • Shopify Admin API — for storefront, product, and order data.
  • Anthropic (Claude API) — for AI-assisted content drafting under Renan's direction.

None of these integrations expose your personal data (as a website visitor or customer) to third-party platforms beyond what is necessary to deliver the service you purchased (e.g., Shopify processes your order; Klaviyo sends you the welcome email if you opt in). We do not sell, share, or syndicate visitor data to any of these platforms for advertising or training purposes.

How long we keep your information

  • Order and payment records: 7 years (US tax requirement).
  • Email list subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
  • Client account access tokens: removed within 7 days of engagement completion. We notify you when access is being removed.
  • Audit reports and Setup deliverables: kept indefinitely as part of our work archive (you also receive copies). If you want yours deleted from our archive, email us and we'll remove it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction — request that inaccurate data be corrected.
  • Deletion — request that we delete your data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
  • Opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in every email, or by emailing us.
  • Data portability — request your data in a structured format.

Cookies and tracking

This site uses cookies for cart functionality, analytics, and email-list integration via Shopify and Klaviyo. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do not run retargeting pixels (no Meta Pixel, no Google Ads remarketing tag) on this site.

Children

This service is for businesses, not individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated to active clients and email list subscribers.
